Fit guidance & Sizing overview
Our sizing system is unique to our brand -- each style (Full-heeled Sabahs; backless Turkish Babas; & El Paso made Babas) will have a separate numerical sizing breakdown.
This means that you can expect to take a different numerical size in some or all of our distinct silhouettes.
This page is meant to guide you through the fit expectations & sizing for each style, but we understand it can feel overwhelming at first.
Please, do not hesitate to utilize our team as a resource - We love hearing from you!

As noted, El Paso made Babas differ, numerically, in size from Turkish made styles.
We recommend consulting the El Paso specific Sizing Guides on the relevant product pages.
A Note on Width
We recommend our Sabahs & Babas for widths A - EE.
Our Sabahs & Babas are crafted in two styles: Mens & Womens.
The Womens style offers a medium to narrow width, while the Mens style offers a standard medium width.
For Turkish made options - Length equivalents can be found by +/- 2 numerical sizeways.
- For example: a Womens 42 Sabah is the same length as a Mens 40 Sabah.
For El Paso made options - the sizing conversion is 1:1.
- For example: a Womens 40 El Paso made Baba is the same length as a Mens 40 El Paso made Baba. The Mens 40 is simply wider throughout.
Sizing FAQ:
What kind of fit is the best fit?
Sabahs should initially fit snug as they are made entirely of natural leather and will stretch & mold to your feet with wear. Depending on your feet and regularity of use, the stretching process may take a few days or a few weeks.
TOES: Your toes should touch the end of the Sabah with some pressure. They should not be curling and you should not be in pain.
HEEL SLIP: Do not be concerned if there is minor slippage in the heel. Sabahs are leather-lined and will grip your feet as you
walk.
Do you make half sizes?
For now, Sabahs only come in whole sizes - but thankfully accommodate almost everyone because they stretch!
How long will it take to break in my Sabahs?
The time frame for breaking in Sabahs can range from a week to a month, depending how often the customer wears them, the initial fit, type of leather and maybe just a bit of luck :) However, Sabahs should start to open up after a few wears. Additionally, it may help to wear your Sabahs with thick socks to expedite the break-in process. But please note -- breaking in can mean really needing to wear and move in your Sabahs -- long walks, flexing the leather, leaning into them a few times; not just around the house. Rarely that much effort is required, but it can be!
Finally, if customers struggle to break them in, we suggest taking your Sabahs to a local cobbler, as they can stretch them in exact places.
Do you make Sabahs in different widths?
We make Sabahs in two styles/widths: Mens and Womens.
Women’s Sabahs are narrower than men’s Sabahs and are a medium to narrow width. Our men’s Sabahs are a standard medium width.
Many of our female customers prefer the fit of a Men's Sabah, given the added width. This is quite common! And vice-versa for Men with narrow feet.
The rule of thumb for finding the length equivalent of a Women's Sabah in a Men's size is to subtract 2 numerical sizes.
- Women's 42 is the same length as a Men's 40.
If I send you my foot measurements, can you provide me with the perfect fit?
We can certainly align our measurements with your measurements so feel free to email us at portal@sabah.am for advice.
I can feel the inside stitching of my Sabahs. Is that normal?
Yes, some customers can feel the insole stitching and may even find it uncomfortable. However, the inside stitching is a simple waxed cotton string and will gradually soften to become unnoticeable in a short time.
My toe touches the end of my Sabahs, but they do not hurt or curl my toes. Are they too small?
No, Sabahs should fit between snug and very snug (toes touch the end; even with pressure) as they will stretch. As long as your toes are not curling or in pain, you have the right fit.
